									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>First attempt at refrigerator pickles! The refrigerator does most of the work so there’s less pressure on the brine/canning concept. I used peppercorns and dill seeds for added seasonings was going to put garlic in but my husband said that makes it kosher and “less sour” by store bought standards. So trial and err to see what we prefer, I suppose.</p>

I discovered though that you have to harvest the pods right away once they get 3-4in otherwise they get rock hard and ultimately inedible. Andy/Kathy use it in their gumbo and of course in the south it’s a favorite fried side with cornflour&hellip;</p>

So big and hardy. He has it again this year. I just got some more bulbs to plant come October 1st! I didn&#8217;t want to forget so I put a yearly reminder in my phone for that date. &#x1f606; Hopefully that will help. </p>
