Chapter 9!!!!! š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„ I have grown very tired of the argument that Christians donāt need to be educated.

I totally agree Jaime! I love that there are so many new resources out there for homeschool families. Wilsonās school, Logos, has online classes now as well. I really struggle with this sometimes because I think that a quality private school could do a better job than I can and I would do a good job of being involved in the school and continuing the education at home. I want so much for my kids and donāt want to fail them. Canāt wait to read chapter 10!

Chapters 9 and 10th is week! Hope you ladies are enjoying š

Toward the end of chapter 5, Wilson talks about teachers loving what they are teaching. I struggle with this because I really dislike math. I can see the result of that in Anabelle. She is good at math but it is a drudgery for her and I donāt know how to make it lovely for her. Iām dying to put her in an online math class š So does anyone have any great ideas on how to love teaching math?

I also love that he talks about being a good receiver. Maybe instead of saying āYou shouldnāt haveā when someone gives us a gift we should say āthank you for your thoughtfulnessā! When we have been on the receiving end of meals from families in the church I have always apologized for people having to drive so far to drop the meal off. But if Iām driving to take someone else a meal, I donāt think a thing of it. If they didnāt want to give me a gift, they wouldnāt have. I just need to be thankful so many people love me.
I also tend to grumble about the amount of toys my kids receive at Christmas. We have three kids and two of them have December birthdays (19th and 25th), so the gifts pile up very quickly in December. I can become ungrateful, thinking that people just donāt care how many junky toys I have to pick up off the floor every day. But this book has convicted me of my ungratefulness and being a bad receiver.
